Web Master Information

This page contains some information which may be of interest to others setting up church, or other, web sites. At time of writing, I believe that all of this is correct.

ISP Information

The site is hosted by a UK based ISP called Force 9. See www.f9.net.uk for full details.

The site uses the "free" service giving "unlimited" web space. There are subscription services available. At the time the site was created "free" in this case means using a UK local 0845 number call to access the site. "Unlimited" in fact has limits on traffic volume. Best to check the F9 web site for latest details.

The free service also provides "unlimited" e-mail addresses. This really means that e-mail will arrive, regardless of what appears before the @ sign in the address. See the F9 site for full details. 

Dial-up is usually rapid with engaged or busy messages being very rarely encountered.

F9 provides e-mail form (used on this site) and counter scripts for use on the free service. I believe the subscription services have full access to CGI - but do check. There is also a service with Microsoft FrontPage Extensions but with restrictions on web site disk space. See the F9 web site.

Counters and Guest Books

The hit rate counter and guest book used on the site are provided free by Bravenet Web Services. See www.bravenet.com for full details - more services are becoming available all the time from Bravenet. The counter is surprisingly comprehensive and fast to load, so page download time is still quite fast even when it is included.

General Information

The pages are created using Microsoft FrontPage 2000 software and deliberately avoid flashy graphics to minimise page download time, since many users are likely to be connected via modem lines.
